John McCool Wins State Award
John McCool, Village of Warren Wastewater Superintendent, has been honored with “Best Operated Wastewater Treatment Works” presented by the Illinois Association of Water Pollution Control Operators. The award was presented at the annual conference of the IAWPCO in Springfield on April 21, 2010. John was nominated from a field of 257 Group 2 facilities considered statewide. Of this group only seven were nominated for the award. Inspection teams made up of IAWPCO and IEPA representatives chose him as the winner.
The purpose of the annual award is to emphasize the relationship between adequate wastewater treatment and clean receiving waters to give public recognition and encouragement to communities, their officials and the operating personnel who have operated their wastewater facilities in an especially effective manner.
John a lifelong resident of Warren has worked for the Village of Warren since June 1, 1976. It is only fitting that he resides on Water Street with his wife Anne. John has three daughters, Molly, Katie and Betsy. We would like to thank him for his many years of dedication to the Village of Warren. We are very pleased and congratulate him on this fine accomplishment. A trophy will be on display at Village Hall if you would like to stop by to view it.
