There are several internet/phone scams that are "Ghosting" peoples accounts off of Facebook and using local phone numbers. The Warren Police Department has been made aware of these scams. One of the scams is ACTUALLY using the Warren Police Department phone number (815) 745-2418. They are impersonating the Warren Police Department and are advising you to go to Dollar General to purchase gift cards and then forward the gift cards to them. THIS IS A SCAM! Hang up on them and contact the Warren Police Department at (815) 745-2418 or (815) 745-2218 immediately to report the scam. Remember: "If it seems too good to be true it probably is"! If you have any questions please contact your local Police or Sheriff's Department.
